Our client is a family law firm located in the Hills District, Sydney.
This is an opportunity to assist the firm with family law matters, however you will also gain exposure to wills and estates, criminal, fertility law and some commercial matters.
The Managing Partner is a well respected family lawyer with more than 15 years experience in practice.
Key responsibilities include:
· Providing administration assistance to our team;
· Filing and email management & calendar management;
· Matter management using the firm’s Practice Management Software (Smokeball);
· Identifying, collating, and indexing of large volumes of financial disclosure materials;
· Utilising other software applications like ‘Family Property’ when required;
· Utilising other third-party software programs such as Infotrack and Comcourts;
· Drafting, formatting, proofreading, amending correspondence and documents;
· Drafting court and other legal documents;
· Preparing briefs to counsel;
· Electronic court document filing and serving documents to other parties;
· Calendar management including arranging of conferences with clients, Counsel, other professionals as required;
· Liaising with clients, prospective clients, barristers, third-parties via email, telephone, online and face-to-face;
· Providing day-to-day general and adhoc administrative duties;
· Contribution to marketing which may include attending events, networking, blog posts for website, social media content and articles for third-party publications;
· Timesheet entry for all billable tasks.
To be considered for this position you will ideally have:
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a paralegal in a law firm, ideally with exposure to family law matters;
· Full time availability;
· Excellent customer service skills with ability to adapt your communication style to the situation;
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with ownership over your work;
· Excellent time management and organisational skills – ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and meet conflicting deadlines;
· Strong Microsoft Office Skills particularly in Word and Outlook;
· Ability to pick up new systems and skills quickly;
· A keen attitude towards learning and commitment to your role;
· Initiative in improving the firm’s processes and systems;
· Be punctual, reliable, and dedicated to producing high quality work;
· Professionalism when handling confidential information;
