We’re seeking a law graduate for a new position with an organisation that manages corporate insurance claims.

 

This Claims Executive position is a great opportunity for someone with legal training but lacking corporate office experience.

 

The role covers off a number of different lines of commercial insurance. When these insurance claims become complex, they are referred to a number of leading Australian law firms for advice on liability. You as Claims Executive become the law firm client in this regard.

 

Day to day responsibilities

– Beginning to end insurance claims management
– Drafting insurance coverage advice  to internal + external stakeholders (requires critical thinking skills which is why the client is seeking law graduates for the role)
– Identify claims issues and make recommendations to appoint lawyers as necessary
– Devise effective claims strategies
– Telephone communications with claimants to advise of claim updates and to gather critical information
– Assist in the preparation of reports on quarterly and ad-hoc basis when required
– Servicing clients to a high standard

 

You’ll work closely with a team of claims administrators (all qualified solicitors) in the firm’s Sydney office. In some instances, your role will require liaising with solicitors from external law firms.

 

The client is seeking law graduates with sound academics for this role, however experience with claims administration is not required.

 

This type of position is a stepping for someone who wants to work in the legal sector long term.

 

The successful candidate will need to be available for full-time, in-person work in Sydney CBD until at least the end of September.
